I'm spending two days in Brussels, Belgium and trying to tourist between work meetings. Brussels is equally catered to the tourist and the business travelers, making it super easy. Its a great walking city, and only getting more pedestrian friendly.

Top 5 Things to do while in Brussels, Belgium

There's plenty to do, but the city is easy to navigate. Depending on how much time you have here, you could be able to do everything you could possibly want, but if you were just passing through or distracted with adulting, like me, prioritization is key. Here's some experiences to consider:

1} If you don't try Belgian waffles while in Belgium, you're doing it wrong.

I don't care if it's touristy or not... I mean, look at how picturesque this setting is and tell me I'm wrong! I'm not even a sweets-kinda-girl, and I loved it. I tried out La Brouette in the Grand Place and was extremely happy with the food, location, and service.

2} Do a bit of sightseeing.

Grand Place is the most touristy, but still stunning, and worth going to see (maybe for a Belgian waffle per above!)

Also check out the area around the Brussels Stock Exchange. It's still touristy, but there are many more locals popping around. There's plenty of fun pubs, shops, and statues around where it's worth the very short walk.

There's lots of other options too like Delerium cafe, Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Sablon Market, and many, many chocolatiers!

3} Drink a local drink.

Obviously, Brussels is world renowned for its great beer scene. Even if you're not a beer connoisseur or regular drinker, give one a try! Many of the bar tenders and servers are very knowledgeable about what they offer, so just ask for a recommendation! I tried a Pilsner at Nüetnigenough, a hip but small locals pub.

If you don't like wine, you're dead to me, but still try a half and half. It's a local drink with half champagne and half chardonnay, and this marriage is a beautiful thing. Kill two birds with one stone by having one at Falstaff, a Belgian restaurant right across form the Brussels Stock Exchange.

4} Check out a unique bar!

Brussels is FILLED with them. My favorite was Goupil le Fil which made me feel like I was a local in an old French/Boho movie. With its bric-a-brac everywhere, velvet seats, and (amazing) records covering the ceiling, it's not just a good stop for its unique wine, but an experience all in itself!

5} Enjoy a fancy af brunch.

I've lived in Europe and realized its just the thing you do. I found Le Cirio just lovely. Sit by the window, sip some coffee, and people watch the locals bustling about.
